Dove House is run by HolyCare, where we are committed to providing high-quality, person-centred care through our dedicated team. Our colleagues work closely with our residents, their loved ones and medical professionals to ensure individually tailored care is always delivered to the highest standard.
Dove House was originally owned by the Vernon family, who owned Sudbury Village and the surrounding countryside for many generations.
Dove House is for those who value something different from their care provider—those seeking a transparent and refreshing approach, and those who appreciate authenticity and recognise the benefits of a holistic approach to care. Our mission is centred around providing the quality, reliability, safety and respect that our residents and their loved ones deserve.
Our name? It’s more than just a word; it’s a promise—to be a flicker of hope during what can often be a delicate and challenging time for families.

True to our name—originating from the Greek word meaning to ignite or to spark—we’re here to illuminate the way, supporting people to make care choices they feel confident and comfortable with.
Finding the right care home for a loved one is hard, and we understand that seeking care is often a last resort, triggered by an event no one was prepared for. Dark days? It can certainly feel that way.
But it doesn’t have to be like this. From the moment you walk through our doors, you’ll be greeted with a smile from our reception team or our caring staff. We will do everything we can to make your move as comfortable as possible, helping you feel at home quickly. We also ensure clear communication with your family, as we understand they may need support too.
We value your voice, and we always encourage you to take part in decisions about your care. We will help you create a comfortable, personalised bedroom where you can relax, rest and sleep, while our cosy lounges offer a welcoming space to chat with other residents and form new friendships.
