About us
Experience an exciting new chapter with Legacy Senior Communities.
Dove House is run by HolyCare, where care is delivered to a high standard. We’re not chasing meaningless awards or focusing on hefty bank accounts; we’re here to offer a better kind of care—one where community and genuine connection are at the forefront of everything we do. We want to do things differently and shake things up. HolyCare isn’t your typical care home group; where others say, “That’s not how care works,” we say, “Why not?” Our goal is to make care with a difference accessible to more people.
The Beautiful countryside
Dove House was owned by the Vernon family who owned Sudbury Village and the surrounding countryside for many generations.
Part of the picturesque Sudbury Village, with its Hall and Museum of Childhood, the area has now been taken over by the National Trust to preserve its unique character.
The towns of Ashbourne, Uttoxeter, Derby and Burton-on-Trent are within easy travelling distance from Sudbury. Within the village, there is a church, post office and a shop, and regular bus services operate to all local towns.
Dove House, set in extensive lawned gardens, is situated one mile outside the village along a private drive off the A515, overlooking open countryside. The Home stands within its own grounds and offers a large private car park.
Dove House goes out of its way to provide a friendly, home-from-home atmosphere. It is tastefully decorated and registered for Residential Care, as well as for those with dementia, mental health needs or physical disabilities. The Home has a secure garden that provides residents with an environment rich in contrast and texture, ideal for enjoying warm Derbyshire summers. There is ramped access to a level seating area with patios and lawns in the courtyard. For those who prefer to watch rather than take part, the conservatory allows residents to enjoy the feeling of being in the garden while remaining indoors.
